ORCOM communication was founded in 1987 as a company that manufactures and distribute electronic equipment for the purpose of surveillance photography and wiretapping for governmental and security establishment's.

With the increasing need in the civil market for the quest of information in business criminal or personal field's, ORCOM directed some of it's activity to that direction.

In the civil field there are number of factors that should be considered, in distinction from equipment's that are intended to governmental agent's:

1) The simplicity of the operation - equipment that need's no technical know-how in operating. And the installation or the operation is similar to every other electric equipment at any home.

2) Cost - in different then governmental agent's who enjoying from almost unlimited budget, for security reason's, in the civil field the economic possibility's are much more limited, and those should be considered.

3) Legal restriction's - in the civil field laws for privacy protection and human rights leaves small room for information gathering in away that does not opposed to the law.

4) Accessibility to equipment - in the governmental / military field there are limitations on most of the equipment category for those people who are allowed to use them. And great part of that technology was regarded as secret until recently. Hence the short accessibility to that kind of equipment.

5) External appearance - an equipment which is in use in the civil field should be "disguised" as instruments which are in daily use in every home or office, that is for not causing unnecessary attention.

6) Technical / legal restrictions - in every state there are limitation concerning transmission channel's, transmitters power or current consumption (load) from telephone lines or electricity sockets.

ORCOM considered those and other factors before starting to produce equipment for the civil market, without compromising on the professional or quality requirements.
